Recently the mass media disseminated information that Ardvi Village, Lori Region, has been taken out of the UNDP-funded “Integrated Rural Tourism Development” project, the aim of which is to develop rural tourism and ecotourism.

In his interview with EcoLur Project Coordinator Armen Valesyan denied information mentioning the project doesn’t have a finalized list and Ardvi is still considered to be a target village. “60 villages with high potential should be selected for tourism development out of 350 villages. There is no finalized list: Ardvi hasn’t been either selected or taken out: it’s in the current list of villages. To tell more, we have already performed some works in Ardvi, we have laid a walking lane towards the top of the hill in the village. Ardvi has prospects to be included, as the other 350 villages,” Armen Valesyan said and added, “I am calling for all who have ideas for tourism, development in Ardvi and remaining villages, let them apply to us. Any idea is welcomes and we are ready to support.”
