RA Environmental and Mining Inspection has filed a report to RA Chief Prosecutor’s Office on defaulting of monitoring and cleaning of wastewater at Kapan Central Mine (Kavart Mine) by “Deno Gold Mining” Company, as the Public Relations Department of the Inspection informed.

Over two weeks ago there was a leak of acidic water from the derelict central mine in Kapan. The inspection has carried out sampling and the analyses showed that the medium of the water extract in the soil is acidic. Besides that, the examination of the documentation showed that “Deno Gold Mining” Company had received a certificate of rejection and an environmental impact expert assessment and hasn’t performed its requirements. Reminder: : still in 2009 “Deno Gold Mining” Company refused from the concession right to operating Kapan central mine without final mining of the reserves considering it unprofitable and handed to the state.
