'Energo Invest Holding' CJSC, which operates in the sector of energy, intends to prospect for gold, silver, copper and molybdenum in Murkhuz polymetallic mine, Tavush Region, in 2017-2019.
The public hearings for the Murkhuz polymetallic mining project is planned to be held at 13:00, on 15 February, at Artsvaberd Rural Municipality in Tavush Region.
According to the project, the area selected for prospecting works occupies a total of 96.24 km2 area (9624 ha) and includes 5 communities - Itsaqar (7.31 km2), Aghavnavanq (6.51 km2), Navur (25.46 km2), Artsvaberd (32.36 km2) and Aygedzor (24.6 km2).
Around 60% of the area selected for the studies is a part of Artsvaber forestry enterprise, while Ijevan reserve is located in the adjacent area.
'Around 5200 ha of the forestry enterprise area is included in the mine area. It's at the end of the reserve area and above the upper zone of the forest. Reserve forests reach up to 1950 meters above sea level, while mining area starts from 1970 meters,' 'Young Forest Growers Union' NGO said.
The selected area is located in a seismic unstable zone, where most magnitude of quake is 9 point.
The sole shareholder of 'Energo Invest Holding' CJSC is 'Hrazdan Energetic Organization' PLC. According to the official website of 'Energo Invest Holding' CJSC, the company has assets in DzoraHEK, Cahan and Erik SHPPs.
