44.5 ha of pine forest has been planted in Sevqar Forestry Enterprise of “ArmForest” SNCO, Tavush Region. On 27 May the employees of “State Forest Monitoring Center” SNCO and NGOs had a joint visit to Sevqar Forestry Enterprise to see the works performed. Sevqar Forestry Enterprise Chief Forestry Officer Mushegh Madatyan said in his interview with EcoLur that over 3000 pine trees had been planted on 1 ha. “Environmental Academy” NGO Chairman Greta Gabrielyan said, “Pine forest is a successful experiment to solve the problem of tree felling on the eve of New Year.” Forestry officers say that people find pine trees even in high and remote places and take them to the fair. Pine forestation works have been carried out with the support of the GIZ.
