Ban on Export of Timber from Armenia to Third Countries To Be Imposed

There will be a ban on the export of timber from the Republic of Armenia to third countries and some of its products.

RA Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources has elaborated a draft government decision on approving the list of prohibited groups for export to third countries by the Republic of Armenia, which proposes to ban the export of timber and goods made from it from RA to third countries according to the Eurasian Economic Union's Foreign Economic Activity Commodity Code (EEAS).

According to the draft decision, the expediency of imposing a ban on the export of timber from Armenia and some of its products is due to the need to protect the environment. The list of prohibited product groups for export to third countries from Armenia is as follows:

- firewood
- non-processed forest materials
- wood - non-processed forest materials
