Today, on 9 September, the member of Pre-parliament and Pan-Armenian Environmental Front member Yeghia Nersessian was detained as a witness to Ararat and Vayots Dzor Court of General Jurisdiction for the case of illegal poaching of red-listed animals – Caucasian bear and Bezoar Goat in “Khosrov Forest” Reserve in September 2012.
Reminder: The investigation of this poaching case detected with the efforts of the environmentalists, including Yeghia Nersessian, is carried out partially. Instead of finding people factually guilty of committing the crome and bringing them to justice, they prosecuted Garni villager Norayr Sargsyan, born in 1983. Meanwhile he and his family members are continuing to deny his connection with the poaching. In parallel, the prosecution seeks to involve the environmentalists, in this particular case, Yeghia Nersessian, into this fake criminal case to generate artificial contradictions among environmentalists and citizens.
