On 7 July RA Nature Protection Minister Artsvik Minasyan and UN Resident Coordinator Bradley Busetto signed the contract of 'Reduction of Investment Risks Aimed at Building Energy Efficient Modernization' project. The project is funded by Green Climate Fund in the form of US $ 20 Million grant.

'Analyses have shown that 'energetic poverty' with us makes up 30% and this project is directed at the shift in this social situation. As a result of the project, we will introduce energy efficiency system in hundreds of public and multi-story buildings, at least 50% of energy efficiency, and eventually, essential reduction of greenhouse gases,' Artsvik Minasyan outlined.
UN Resident Coordinator Bradley Busetto expressed his confidence that the project will promote not only energetic issues in Armenia, but also national security issues.

In the frames of the project around 50-60% of energy efficiency is planned to ensure through heat isolation in the buildings, budget reduction and reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission up to 5.4 million tons within 20 years.
