Gagik Surenyan, Head of Meteorological Center of Ministry of Emergency Situations of RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, expressed his concern on Facebook page about the hot and dry weather of winter. “In fact, these hot and dry days that are going on steadily are no longer happy, but very worrying. The air temperature remains high by 3-5 degrees,” Surenyan posted.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the level of the filling of five major reservoirs in Armenia as of January 9, 2020, it is twice and triple less than the same day last year except for Akhuryan Reservoir.
Akhuryan Reservoir: Capacity: 525 million cubic meters. Volume of water as of January 9, 2020 was 212 million cubic meters compared to 117 million cubic meters of the same day in 2019.
Lake Arpi: Capacity: 105 million cubic meters. Volume of water as of January 9, 2020 was 7.20 million cubic meters compared to 38.8 million cubic meters of the same day in 2019.
Aparan Reservoir: Capacity: 91 million cubic meters. Volume of water as of January 9, 2020, it amounted to 14.5 million cubic meters compared to 17.2 million cubic meters on the same day in 2019.
Azat Reservoir: Capacity: 70 million cubic meters. Volume of water as of January 9, 2020 it was 11.2 million cubic meters compared to 21.2 million cubic meters of the same day in 2019.
Marmarik Reservoir: Capacity: 24 million cubic meters. Volume of water as of January 9, 20120 was 2.27 million cubic meters compared to 4.63 million cubic meters on the same day in 2019.
