Planned to Make Green Areas of Common Use 916 Ha by 2020

It's planned to make the total use of green areas in Yerevan 916 ha by 2020, which will result in annual consumption of 1831 tons of carbon dioxide. By 2020 it's planned to carry out wide-scale tree planting in Paros, Tsitsernakaberd, Yerablur, Karmir Blur, Victory and Tatul Krpeyan Parks, in the areas adjacent to Nor Norq Children's Center, Yerevan Champaign Factory, as well as that of Argavand Alley.

The total surface of green areas in Yerevan made up 852.3 ha in 2015, as 'Sustainable Energy Development Action Plan' says developed in the frames of the EU Covenant of Mayors initiative.
Reminder: In 2014 Yerevan Municipality has underaken a commitment to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases by 20% joining the EU Covenant of Mayors initiative in 2014. The expansion of green areas also aims it.
