Under the initial estimates, the total area of the fire broken out in 'Khosrov Forest' State Reserve in August makes up around 2200 ha, out of which non-burnt down area is 365 ha, little burnt down – 525 ha, medium burnt down – 1200 ha and highly burnt down – 110 ha.
According to forest-building maps, the fire area includes 900 ha oak trees, 200 ha of junipers and 1100 ha of the grass-covered area: these data were presented to RA Nature Protection Minister at the meeting of the adjunct scientific and technical council.
As Information and Public Relations Department of RA Nature Protection Ministry informs, the council members noted that the state of annual plants in the reserve will be clear after fall rains, as well as in the spring after seedling of viable seeds. The recovery of perennial plants and bushes will also significantly depend on the availability of viable seeds. The state of large-leaved tree species will be clear during spring vegetation.
