Over 2007-2017 there was an increase recorded in the number of red-listed animals in Armenia, that of, Caucasian Leopard, Armenian Moufflon and Bezoar Goat, as WWF Armenia Director Karen Manvelyan said at the Third International Conference on Biological Diversity and Conservation Problems of the Fauna launched in Yerevan on 27 September,

'If we had one or two leopards in 2007, now their number reaches up to 9-10, while the number of bezoar goats is 3000 instead of 1500. The number of Armenian moufflons has also risen, but not as much as it would be desirable – 400 from 300,' he said.

Karen Manvelyan also said that currently WWF Armenia and RA Nature Protection Ministry are working on introducing the first batch of Caucasian red deers from Iran into Armenia – 10 ha has been provided in 'Dilijan National Park' for the preservation, reproduction and further release of the Caucasian red deers.
