Public Meeting with International Experts Having Studies Amulsar Problem

On June 20th, from 11:00-14:00 Ann Maest and André Sobolewski, international scientists in geology and environmental impact assessments will present the Armenian public and mass media their expert conclusions on Amulsar gold mine project. They will evaluate the data available on environmental impact from Amulsar gold mine project, how Lydian International has interpreted these data for the public and government of Armenia, and what kind of risks and costs are expected in reality should the mine be operated. 

The meeting is open to the public, there will be English-Armenian-English simultaneous translation. 

The following topics will be presented. 
Ann Maest, Environmental Assessment of Amulsar Gold Project: Water Quality Issues. The presentation will discuss the basics of geochemical characterization at mines, interpretation of the results, management of water at the mine, and the implications for water quality in the area during and after proposed mining at Amulsar.
André Sobolewski, Environmental Assessment of Amulsar Gold Project: Mitigation Measures. The presentation will discuss the reasons why the measures proposed by Lydian are found to be inadequate to protect the environment.
