Jermuk Mayor Thinks Amulsar Mine Development Won’t Disturb Jermuk Development

Jermuk Mayor Vardan Hovhannisyan thinks that Amuslar mine development won’t disturb the development of Jermuk. “I used to oppose to the mine development, but at this moment it doesn’t disturb the development of our town,” said Jermuk Mayor in his interview with the Armenpress and outlined that if the proper technologies are used during mine development, it won’t disturb the development of tourism.

Amulsar gold mine is located in a distance of 12 km from Jermuk resort town to be developed by Lydian International Company as represented by its subsidiary – Geoteam Company.

Under the official information, Geoteam Company is currently rehabilitating the buildings of Jermuk kindergarten and School of Art in the frames of social responsibility package. The total cost of these two projects is around 100 million AMD, the company transferred another 26 million AMD to Jermuk Socio-Economic Development Fund. Besides, the open-air sports complex for Jermuk high school has been construction and the bathroom unit will be constructed for School no. 1.
