The Armenian Government is going to grant privileges to 'Lydian Armenia' mining company, which plans to develop Amulsar gold mine in an opencast manner. At the meeting to be held on 20 April Suren Karayan, Minister for Economic Development and Investments, will submit a draft resolution for the approval of the executive, according to which 'Lydian Armenia' company won't pay VAT for the imported products and goods for 3 years. The company is going to import goods costing around 26.7 million AMD for the construction and development of Amulsar mine. During mining it's planned to mine around 2 million ounces of gold and around 3million ounces of silver, which will be completely exported.

Reminder: these days the claim on the cancellation of permitting documents of Amulsar gold mine is being tried in RA Administrative Court. The claim has been lodged by 12 residents of Gndevaz Community affected by Amulsar project and 'EcoRight' and 'EcoDar' NGOs.
