On 12 August the explosions rocked the northeastern coastal city of Tianjin, killing at least 114 people, 772 people taken to hospital, at least 95 people are still missing, according to authorities. According to Tass Agency, the blast waves broke all the glasses in the houses with a diamter of 2 km, over 1000 cars have been damaged. Heavy fire burst out on the spot of the blasts. Then several blasts rocked in the warehouse. The area east from the epicentre is contaminated with sodium cyanide, the area detoxification has been launched, the locals are evacuated. President Serzh Sargsyan today sent a telegram of condolence to President Xi Jinping of the Peoples’ Republic of China on huge blasts in city of Tianjin that claimed multiple lives. “I express my deepest condolences and compassion to you and to friendly Chinese people. I wish steadfastness and strength of spirit to the victims’ relatives and a speedy recovery to the injured. I am confident that the effective steps undertaken by the Chinese government will help to speedily surmount the devastating consequences of the explosions”, reads the RA President’s condolence letter. Gold extraction with cyanide technologies has been intensively developing in the small area of Armenia – Ararat Twon, Masis area, Hrazdan town, soon there will be a heap leaching plant in Gndevaz village next to Jermuk resort town and in Arjut Village next to Vanadzor city.
