Ghoukasyan cut down 6 trees, and the damage made up 442,555 AMD. Five more cut down trees have been cut down, while the damage amounted to 222,000 AMD.

However, the same timber costs 1000 USD in Turkey…40 chairs are manufactured from one linear metre. Whether they are legal or illegal, they will remain for us as illegal, as we know huge territories of forest are cut down masked as sanitary felling. My friends decided to spend their summer holidays in different regions of Armenia: all they call and say trucks loaded with timber leave the forests; peasants complain forests are on the verge of extinction. Frequently all this is committed by forestry officers’ instructions. -
