The Artavan River flows in Vayots Dzor Region. It rises from the junction of Zangezour and Vayq mountains and joins the Darb River on the left near Getikvanq Village. Its length is 19 km.
As of 1 January 2014, under the licenses issued by Public Services Regulatory Committee and the main indicators of small hydro power plants operated by hydropower companies, “Artavan-1” SHPP is constructed on this river, which is operated by “Jahuk” LLC, derivation length – 3721.5 meters.
The SHPP pipes a total river area of 3721.5 meters, which makes up 19.586842% of the river.
